About

My story, abridged…

My name is Joshua Valentine, my pronouns are he/him and it’s very nice to meet you!

From 2017-2021, I worked at The Center For Arts in Natick (TCAN), a non-profit arts venue 20 miles outside of Boston, Massachusetts that serves over 30,000 patrons a year. I was initially hired as the Front of House Manager and then, at the beginning of 2019, was promoted to Operations Manager. In this role, I worked with a small in-house staff of eight employees and managed over 200 volunteers to fulfill a mission in the belief the arts are essential to the human experience and to the creation of a vibrant, healthy community. At TCAN, I held the responsibility of executing the requirements to present concerts, films and private events all to a very high standard of presentation.

Since moving to Los Angeles, I have had the privilege of working in some fantastic areas. I am currently a cast member at Disneyland in Anaheim and find so much joy in creating happiness for each and every guest.

Throughout everything in my professional career, the through line has been a passion for art, film and television. Growing up, my Dad taught me how to draw and introduced me to the worlds of Star Wars, Star Trek and Mel Brooks, while my Mom set in motion a love of independent and international cinema. My family is very artistic and I’ve been drawing since I could hold a crayon. The ability to create and have said creation be of inspiration has always been my favorite part of any job.

In my spare time, I watch a lot of movies and love to draw/paint while I watch. My top five favorite movies are: 1) Harold and Maude 2.) The Lord of the Rings 3.) A League of Their Own 4.) Waiting for Guffman 5.) A Hard Day’s Night. I am inspired by many comic artists and illustrators including, but certainly not limited to Basil Woolverton, R. Crumb, Matt Groening, Don Martin and Sir Quentin Blake.
